Default Clarification of EFA's

Hello,

I've been reading the various articles (12 week diet, 13 week diet & fat burning to a whole new level, EFA in depth analysis) and would like to get some clarification on EFA's and when to add them to my diet.

The EFA analysis document recommends a 2:1 - 3:1 ratio of Omega 3 to Omega 6, however I'm looking at the sample meal plans in some of the articles and it says to have either Safflower oil or Flax oil. Safflower oil is high in Omega 6, whereas Flax is Omega 3 so not sure which to follow.

I don't eat fish so can't use that for me EFA's. I use Safflower oil with my salad at lunchtime (approx. 2 tsp), and I take Flaxseed oil capsules (2 capsules, 1300mg) with my 2pm meal.

Don't stress it too much.

Try to get more omega 3 in your diet from flaxseed.

Can you use fish oil (even though you don't eat fish)? That is a fairly easy source and pretty cheap.

Try to reduce fats in your diet that are high in omega 6.

Overall, try to consume healthy fats like olive oil, coconut oil, eggs, etc.

I can certainly add fish oil to my diet yes. I just wasn't sure if I should be removing the Safflower oil and replacing it with something like olive oil to reduce the Omega 6.

I think that would be a good idea.
