Excellent. You gotta love the boots and the spartan area. Thats a bit different to my new gym with its pay tv on the cardio machines and sanitary wipes for cleaning the gear after we have used it.

He is definitely strong. It would be better for him to reduce the weight some and work on technique though. Squat was definitely high, but I am sure he could still handle some decent weight if he went to parrallel. And that deadlift was a bit ugly, that's a good way to injure yourself.
I am thankful for his service.

He would like to find someone to coach him in the various power and olympic lifts. He is planning to go to college after he completes his service to the country (July 2013). Do any colleges or universities have power and/or olympic lifting programs? Any recommendations for resources to help someone improve their technique? |

I enjoyed this post, thank you!
I was deployed to Afghanistan a few years ago. While there are many negatives about deploying, I had a ton of time to train. Pull your 12 hour shift, slam the weights, eat a feast, read, sleep, REPEAT. I just wish that I kept at it after coming home (got fat and lazy!)

Thanks Commander! He had recommended the T-Nation site to me last year so I believe that he is familiar with this site. He sent me Dan John's book "Never Let Go" for Christmas.
