when i used to wear gloves i never found any that lasted longer than six months. I really recommend some chalk (if gym allows) using that. not only will you not ever have to buy gloves again , you will greatly improve your grip. I myself was hesitant for many years to switch but now that i have i will never go back to gloves.

I recommend to never use gloves period. They are wussy and dangerous. Plenty of bench press accidents have happened because of people using gloves. They might keep your hands pretty but they are hurting progress.

Personally, I've never seen a pair last for longer than 6 months either. I prefer just to do without.
I'm curious to know what injuries have occurred due to gloves though. A quick google search provided no desired results; most articles I read were advocating the use of gloves. |

I have used both Harbringer and Sheik. Both are great, but Sheik will usually last the longest out of the two brands. I can usually get a good year out of my Sheik gloves sometimes longer depending on the level of wear and tear. Also, I have never had any issues with losing my grip or anything while wearing gloves, but anything is possible.

Avoid gloves, use chalk. Honestly, I rarely need chalk. Deal with the pain the best you can, you will build calluses. You might be limited in the beginning with potential blistering, but your hands will adjust.

Ain't nothing like the development of calluses on your hands after heavy lifting! Stick to bare hands!
