I would have to say "patience and consistency" are extremely important... and even when you don't feel like it, just show up! You'll see the results in the long run.

Be consistent, but train harder and push yourself a little more each time around. Being consistent isn't enough because you can go to any gym anywhere and find guys who are consistent, but make little or zero improvement because they consistently don't push hard enough.

be patient, consistent and educated. good information on diet and training is something people overlook when they first start.
