Yeah, its hard with Mikes programs...it always feels like I have been plowed by a train the first week or so...your body will respond positively tho!

Day 11- Friday
Squat 280x2x10 Probably the hardest workout so far. I didn't feel as if I was going to fail but the weight felt more like 315 on my back and they were my slowest squats since bringing my stance in. My knees are extremely sore but no sharp pains. Deadlifting tomorrow is going to be fun but I'll get it done. Night world. |

None of the pain from squatting comes up in deadlifting for me. How about for you? I'm guessing because deadlifting is more on a single plane.

My lower back and my hips to a lesser extent feel it but nothing crazy. More so just a feeling of my strength being sapped.

Day 12- Saturday
Deadlift 315x1x1 275, my last warm up, felt amazingly easy but 315 hardly budged due to a form issue, so I took a few minutes fixed the problem and pulled it. Definitely ended up being a 9-9.5 rep. 290x4x3 on each set I thought i could probably hit a fifth but the fourth was definitely hard Bench 205x3x10 Didn't have a spotter or workout partners and still only minutely slowed on the final rep of the day, definitely think I need to retest my bench max before the next cycle. Push Press was 3x4 at 95, 115, and 135. Good Mornings felt horrible so I just did 3x4 at 135. Tomorrow's rest will be much needed. Hopefully come back strong on Monday to squat. |

Yeah I hit them because I needed to, not because I wanted to. And with my weak lower back I'm not sure how effectively I was actually performing them.

Monday- Squat day
265x5x5 had some issues dialing in form. Some reps were much deeper than others, although my high squats are still easily below parallel, I just feel a different tightness and rebound with the different depths. I also noticed that I was having trouble sitting back as far as I wanted and felt myself come onto my toes a little bit. I think this is where squat shoes would really come in handy so I think I am going to try saving up for a pair. I also am having a problem with my wrists supporting the weight too much. I feel that when I first started squatting in this style I could actually pull the bar down with my hands and drive through it. Now I feeling far too much weight sitting in my hands. Have an entire checklist of things to work on next workout. Oh and max set of pullups after the squats. Overall easy day, kind of getting used to the beaten up feel of the volume block. Almost done though, then onto a strength or power block of some sort. Night world. |
