Epic fail last night. Got 320 for 2 sets, failed on the 2nd rep of the 3rd set. Puked. Took a 20 min break. Tried 305 and couldn't even get one. Took a 45 min break. Hit 225 for 1. Then got 1 set in at 305 then failed on the 1st rep when I tried another set. Called it quits after that. Smolov finally conquered me.

Sounds like you calculated off of too high a weight?

Did you use 380? If so, I'd recommend only using a weight you can dominate for a single, and basing the percents off that.

Yea I used 380 but I don't think that is the problem because the 3 other guys doing it with me are using their true max as well.

What do you think the problem was then?

I have no idea. The 1st workout felt great and I am usually bad at higher rep stuff. Then workout 2 and 3 were harder for me than it was for the other guys. Then workout 4 was just a collapse. I don't drink, smoke, party, I eat enough, I sleep enough. I don't do any cardio or anything else to tire out my muscles. The only guess I can make is that my form breaks down more easily than the other guys. With high volume training, my muscles get tight and its harder for me to sit back and my squats turn into good mornings. The other guys seem to keep their form, just their speed slows down. On the later reps of the later sets I had trouble holding my breath in for the entire rep, which could be a conditioning issue. We'll see how today goes.

I can say you have been training with lots of volume and frequency...making great gains..for me, things started slowing down...and smolov was a wash for me...no gain, no loss. I can suggest some interval training to get your cardiovascular up? I am in good shape, and still have a hard time with reps. You seem taller also, like myself...you may not be built for squatting. Keep working hard man.
