Mike's old programs would have a list of assistance you could choose from or not do any at all, so I would be lazy and not do any usually. Now he puts whatever set exercise and set/rep scheme in each particular day so I decided to put in the extra work.

Got ya!! Ive been doing it all along, dont usually log it though. pushpress / chins on monday, rows on DL day, seated military and rack bench friday..

8/8/11 - Squat & Bench - Day 1 of Research

Squat-
265x8x4sets
265x5x1set (Failed on 6th rep)

Bench-
175x8x4sets
175x7x1set (Failed on 8th rep)

Didn't quite hit 5 sets of 8 on either lift. I blame not having eaten enough, having to take protein before lifting (my stomach is weak with any supplement before lifting), and not having done sets of 8 in forever. Eating will be fixed this week. My appetite decreases when I'm not lifting. And my body will get use to sets of 8 again. So no more failing.

Wednesday is power day, my favorite rep range...singles!
