I have been lacking motivation due to illness, injury and xmas blues, ive got a re occuring back problem which ive had scans on and been told just to take it easy and build back up and ive had the worlds worst chest infection for the past 2 weeks but it has cleared up. im now in the mindset of lift hard, eat big and f**k everything else. only lift i cant put 100% into yet is DL but im gonna be patient and give it time.

Cheers commander.

Day 2

DC seated calf raises
4px14 (1, 5, 15 rep speed)
4px12 (1, 3, 5 rep speed)

Ab crunches
21
19
15

Lying leg raises (push back down by partner, stop within 6 inches of floor)
40
31
26 (these hurt like hell. i used to do them when i kickboxed as a teen)

Cardio: 5 mins 4mph walk on a 5.0 incline
10 mins jog @ 6.5mph 0 incline

Ive decided to really hammer my calves over the coming months as they are really lagging behind and i look totally out of proportion. ive figured once a week, every tues while doing SS is enough. I'm also doing cardio and abs on this day as ive not really been motivated to do either in the past but now i realise their importance in my general fitness. i may also go swimming on the weekend if i get time to.

Tomorrow SS workout 2 going to push myself really hard on this and make sure my form is 100% on every lift before i even consider increasing the weight.

Day 3
SS workout 2

Squats
44x5x2
88x5x1
132x3x1
154x2x1
176x5x3

OH press
44x5x2
55x5x1
66x3x1
77x2x1
88x5x3

Pendlay row
44x5x2
88x5x1
110x3x1
132x5x3

Nice easy stuff today. squats felt a bit wierd as i still have slight DOMS in my glutes from monday. OH press felt heavier than expected, but i havent done these for a very long time so i'll have to take it easy. im still experimenting with form on this so wont add serious weight until i feel comfortable. Rows, felt really good although im having to use a slightly wider stance to get my back angle correct due to my height. only thing i could do is stack the weight up slightly to solve this.

Day 5
SS workout 3

Squats
44x5x2
88x5x1
132x3x1
159.5x2x1
181.5x5x3

Bench
44x5x2
88x5x2
121x3x1
143x2x1
154x5x3

Deads
88x5x2
132x5x1
165x3x1
187x2x1
209x5x1

Nice and easy today. im back into the groove with things. deads felt amazing, i have found my form. my back is staying straight the whole time. Bench gave me a bit of a struggle on the final rep of my 3rd set but all is good. Squats same old stuff. im really enjoying doing them this often and ive definately got another 30lbs plus in me easily but im going to progress upto it and not just be a fool and chuck the weight on and fail.

Day 8
SS workout 4

Squats
44x5x2
88x5x1
132x3x1
165x2x1
187x5x3

OH Press
44x5x2
60.5x5x1
71.5x3x1
82.5x2x1
93.5x5x3

Pendlay Row
44x5x2
88x5x1
110x3x1
132x2x1
154x5x3

Dips
BW+5kgx7
BW+5Kgx5x2

This is my best workout to date. my form on squats feels great. ive got a couple of vids of it to upload and finally im finding a groove on OH press so im hoping i can go for a larger increase on my next workout.
just need to work a bit harder on my diet as i keep getting up late and as a result im missing out on 500 more potential calories by fitting in an extra meal before my workout.

Day 9
Calves and cardio day

DC Seated calf raise machine
4Px14 (1, 5, 15) 1 min rest
4Px12 (1, 3, 5)

Ab machine crunches
17, 17, 16

Oblique twists
50 twists

Cardio-
Treadmill 5 minutes @ 6.0mph
10 minutes @ 7.5mph
5 minutes @ 6.0mph

Nearly got 15 reps on my firts set of calf raises but cramp hit and i had to stop.
Same happened at the end of my second set. I've been nicknamed 'the calf pyscho' by some guys in our gym as they have tried DC on calfs and think it is too brutal. they watched me do this to the point that my eyes are watering with the pain and told me im a nutter.

day 10
SS workout 5

No squats due to a sore knee

Bench press
44x5x2
88x5x1
132x3x1
148.5x2x1
159.5x5x3

Deadlifts
88x5x2
143x5x1
176x3x1
192.5x2x1
220x5x1

I cant squat as ive got a really wierd pain just below my kneecap which becomes agonising upon squatting down. Im going to give it a couple of workouts rest then see how it goes. No idea how i have doen it, just woke up this morning and it started. other than that bench press and DL's went well. ive got my form set on deads now, so im going to increase the wieght by 11lbs per workout until i hit my PR.

Day 10
SS workout 6

No squats again but less pain in my knee

OH press
44x5x2
66x5x1
82.5x3x1
93.5x2x1
99x5x3 (Equals PR)

Pendlay Row
44x5x2
92.5x5x1
121x3x1
143x2x1
159.5x5x3 (equals PR)

Nice workout today. OH press felt difficult and it actually equals my PR. so next time im going to use the same weight then up it for a PR the workout after. Pendlay rows went very well. im having to stack the weight up using 3" blocks and it has made my form improve vastly. I'll be increasing these next time for definate.

What have you tried in place of squats here? Maybe this would be a good opportunity to do some occluded cardio or some occlusion squats with only about 20% of your max to maintain size and strength (and probably even increase). Just a thought man.
