Actually I thought the concentric portion looked fine, it seemed light for you. But on the eccentric, yes, you rounded your back. Make sure you keep a strong arch when you descend. Otherwise, it looked good.

i have tried so hard to keep my back straight on the neg, just wont have it. do you think retracting my shoulder blades and hip flexing might fix it, although doing that meand the bar will run down my quads past my knees which means it wont be in the ideal line over the middle of my foot.

Sucks to be tall while deadlifting, doesnt it bro? lol one of the times im happy im not tall :P

From what i can see youre trying to get the bar to the ground in a straight as line as possibly as quickly as possible...if that makes any sense lol pretend youre squatting, at the start atleast, of your descent. focus on arching your back and sticking your butt out, not actually lowering the bar so to speak. before your try this lower the weight abit from what you used in your vid, as light as possible but enough so you can feel it (sometimes keeping exact form for deads and that is hard when the weight is too light. go for around bodyweight or so if youre unsure). also, practice as slowly as possible.

looking at your squat vid you have decent flexibility in your hips and legs. unfortunately your deads might be limited by the length of your thighs. if this is a problem you could always try sumo deads. good luck man

cheers, ive always been good on squats but i do feel a bit tall for deads well not tall just out of proportion, 5' 11'' with the legs of someone who is 6' 2''. I'll incorporate those things next time round.

Day 87
weight 167.0lbs

Leg Hypertrophy
Squats
132x14
154x10x3

Seated calf raises (DC style)
4Px15 (1,5,15)
4Px12 (1,3,5) (PR)

Lying hamstring curls
60x9
50x12
50x9

My back held up today, could feel it slightly on squats but not to the point of interrupting the exercise. I wanted to do SLDL but after yesterdays back issue i went with lying hamstring curls instead. Nice new PR for calves, which are beginning to show good signs of development. Tomorrow is pressing hypertrophy.

Try what Growth said, really push your butt back on the negative, eventually it will become second nature.

i tried it today with just 10kg a side after the rest of my workout and i managed it fine. i'll video every DL session and find the point at which the weight causes my back to round, then accept that as my max and build up from there, so if i increase the weight but my form isnt good, i'll go back until it is good and only progress once i know it is 100%. thanks for the advice.
