Hello all. It's been a while since posting, but I still work-out/follow a sound, nutritious diet. I just graduated from college and am wanting to pursue screenwriting, so I am moving to LA to be at ground zero of the entertainment industry. To sustain myself, I want to do something I enjoy, and I've always considered being a personal trainer.
What's the path to becoming a personal trainer (do you need certification, to take classes, what qualifies one as able to do the job, etc, etc, etc)? One that works in a fitness club? Also, what would be the expected salary? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need a certification, right now I'm going through ACE, there's hundreds of certifications out there, but only a handful of respectable ones so choose carefully.

check craigslist to see what certifications clubs in your area are looking for. Generally, NCSA, ACSM, ACE are accepted most places
