Its about that time, so let's get some predictions for UFC 116.
Lesnar vs. Carwin Akiyama vs. Leben Lytle vs. Brown Soszynski vs. Bonnar Sotiropoulos vs. Pellegrino I haven't made up my mind entirely yet, and am still contemplating the main event. It sucks Wanderlei had to pull out. He had been training with a torn ACL, and was going to fight anyhow, until he suffered three broken ribs. Man I love me some Wanderlei. Thoughts? Predictions?

Main card Heavyweight Championship bout: Brock Lesnar vs Shane Carwin Welterweight bout: Chris Lytle vs. Matt Brown Light Heavyweight bout: Krzysztof Soszynski vs. Stephan Bonnar Lightweight bout: George Sotiropoulos vs. Kurt Pellegrino Preliminary card (Spike TV) Heavyweight bout: Brendan Schaub vs. Chris Tuchscherer Middleweight bout: Kendall Grove vs. Goran Reljic Preliminary card Light Heavyweight bout: Seth Petruzelli vs. Ricardo Romero Middleweight bout: Gerald Harris vs. Dave Branch Welterweight bout: Daniel Roberts vs. Forrest Petz Heavyweight bout: Jon Madsen vs. Karlos Vemola --------------------------------------------------- little about both lesnar and Carwin Lesnar 4-1 NCAA Division I Wrestling vs Carwin 12-0 NCAA Division II Wrestling & purple belt in BJJ im for Carwin, one thing is for sure, this fight will not go to the judges, its just not humanly possible with these 2 and the both know what the people want...Carwin will put lesnar away, id wager on it. Carwin will keep him standing. besides lesnar dosent have heavy hands, big none the less, but he it just a big ox that uses his size to overpower his opponents. the only sport he wouldnt make it in would be sumo wrestling. following the fight the next fight should be interesting as well, Cain Valesquez who ranks in NCAA Division I Wrestling & a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, is the curently #2 in the rankings for the title. if anyone noticed, Silva was replaced with Leban, who just fought last week, hopefully he will be up to the task unlike other fighters who fight once a year, what do you think about those fighters who make an appearance once a year vs those who fight up to 4 times a year? ---------------------------------------------- little off topic anyone looking forward to the new Matt Hamill movie? view the trailer here

What is your definition of heavy hands? Lesnar dropped Frank Mir with a jab, sent Herring rolling backwards with one as well. I think when you're dropping world class heavyweights with jabs you fall under the category of heavy hands. I think with both guys you have to give credit where credit is due. I believe this fight comes down to who hits who first. Brock's chin hasn't really been tested, but we've saw Carwin rocked by Gonzaga. Nonetheless this is a dream heavyweight matchup.

I knew it was going to happen sooner or later. Fedor has looked less and less impressive each time I have seen him. He made several mistakes in the Arlovski as well as Rogers fight. I knew it was a matter of time before some of his carelessness got the best of him. He also doesn't seem to be in great shape (never was a ripped specimen, but still), and I think he doesn't take his training as serious any more. He even was quoted after this fight that maybe he wasn't serious or dedicated enough in training. I say he comes back in the immediate rematch, destroys Werdum, then retires.
He won't ever go to the UFC and face the young guns. He will lose several. And for the Overeem fight, well, I am not sure if that will ever happen either. I want to see Overeem come to the UFC and get KTFO.

Lesnar vs. Carwin
Lesnar via TKO. I think it could easily go either way, but I just think Brcok has more tools than Shane. Brock has improved with every fight, and I think that working with Couture is going to help him come up with a perfect gameplan, as well as defense from Carwin's dirty boxing. I think at some point Brock will land the takedown. However, if Shane touches Brock with one of those King Kong fists, lights out. I like both fighters, so I am not picking based on bias. Akiyama vs. Leben Sexymama. I like Leben, but I think Akiyama will get this thing on the ground, and probably pull out a UD. Lytle vs. Brown I'll go with Lytle in this one due to experience. This one as said before, has fight of the night written on it. Soszynski vs. Bonnar Soszynski by stoppage. He was winning decisively, IMO, the first fight. Bonnar will continue to be in the UFC even after losses. Dana has stated this before (his role in TUF 1 and promotion of UFC). Sotiropoulos vs. Pellegrino Tough one to call, because both fighters have looked great lately. This one could easily be FON as well. I will give the edge to Sotiropoulos. He has destroyed everyone the UFC has given him. I like both fighters, but believe Sotiropoulos is the more rounded fighter. I think he is better on his feet, and will not be in trouble from Pellegrino's wrestling (look at Stevenson fight).
