I will echo what Commander said. And I have no doubt you will come out stronger.

I've had a good amount experience with dislocations, this one was by far the worse I've ever experienced. I'm beginning to believe I have some nerve damage because I can feel the skin from my shoulder all the way down to my mid bicep. But I won't really know anything until I see my orthopedic surgeon.

A quick update a week after the injury, I'm still unable to lift my arm, still no feeling in the skin of my upper arm. My thumb has been numb too, I noticed that I'm unable to move it like I should. My shoulder doctor won't be able to see me until Oct. 1 so I might need to find someone else, I don't really want to mess around with this potential nerve damage.

My weekly update, nothing has really change except I've gotten the feeling back in my thumb, same mobility though. Still in chronic pain, I can feel it moving around in there incredibly loose so that's not a good sign. I see my orthopedic this Friday so I'm hoping my road to recovery starts there.

Today I've been sober for 3 years, and been a Christian for the same amount of time. Tomorrow I'll be seeing the orthopedic, which couldn't come sooner, I can't feel my deltoid which may be why I can't lift my arm.

Congratulations on your sobriety! Awesome achievement, sorry about the deltoid. I pray your appointment goes well.

Thanks... Saw orthopedic today, looks like my shoulder injury is worse than I thought. I damaged my carpal nerve which caused the numbness in both my thumb and arm, as well as prevents me from have full use of my thumb. I've paralyzed my deltoid muscle which prevents me from being able to lift my arm. I was told I need to start physical therapy now or I run the risk of my arm being completely dead, so I will start that regimen this Monday. Sometime next week I will have a MRI done which will probably reveal that I've torn my rotator cuff as well.

First day of PT today, in attempts to save my arm, right now the main goal is mobilizing it, then I gotta wait for the MRI and the results and go from there. I have an at home program that I have to do daily. All I can say is I'm in a world of hurt right now, but it's gotta be done.
