Default Iron Sharpens Iron

I haven't been around in a long time, and I see much has changed. I was fairly active here as a high school kid a good 7-8 years ago, now I'm a husband, father, and recently separated veteran. After having a chronic back injury in 2012, I let everything slip including my faith.

I am only posting due to the Christian presence still here. I need to do more than rebuild my body. My faith and family leadership is also suffering. I'm not here just for me this time, but for God and my family.

Welcome back. Luckily, we worship a God abundant in grace. It is never too late and we've never screwed up too badly to come back to God.

Tuesday - 9/2/14 - Chest / Triceps

Time can be hard to come by now. When I was in the military, I was given time during the work shift to hit the gym. I also did MMA conditioning, mountain bike racing, and HIIT before injuring my back. I have a LONG way to go. I have a hard time getting away from family/house, so I bought a cage and some budget olympic plates to get started.

Flat BB Bench
- 135x6, 155x5, 165x4, 175x3, 135x5

Plate Extension
- 35x10, 35x9, 45x4, 45x5

Pushup (3 sec. downward pause)
- 5, 4, 4

Bench Dips
- 12, 11, 10

Flat DB Bench Burnout
- 60x14

Plate Close-Grip Bench Burnout
- 45x18

Saturday - 9/13/14 - Back / Biceps

I am fighting sickness, also having trouble getting into a routine. Time management is much more difficult with a young one crawling around. I'm starting with smaller, quick workouts...hopefully I will find a way to set aside more time.

Deadlift
- 135x5, 185x5, 205x5, 225x4, 225x3

DB Hammer Curls
- 60x8, 60x6, 60x4.5, 60x2.5

Bent-Over Plate Rows
- 35x10/10, 35x8/9, 35x7/6.5

Pull-up
- 4, 3, 2

Lateral Plate Curl
- 35x8, 35x6.5, 35x5

Sometimes, small and quick is all you need. Forces you to be smart with exercise selection, get rid of the fluff.

Enjoy the young one!
