sorry for the lack of updates...i went to a concert last tuesday which was absolutely amazing...the next day i headed back to Missouri and have been recharging the ole' battery...I destroyed legs with Jen Thursday night and confirmed that lunges suck no matter what state you do them in...but **** they work like a charm...i trained upper body Saturday and i'm about to go bang out another workout in about an hour...I had an AMAZING time Saturday night hanging out with the crew and just letting it go a little bit...tomorrow i head back home and prepare to dominate again...i'm starting to feel like a lazy bum since i haven't been at the lab...Wednesday night i'll be back training on a normal schedule

That, sir, is a true statement. (But strangely, they also rule at the same time)

I tried occluded walking lunges....Can you say "oww"?

No extra resistance required for that, bodyweight works just fine.

Glad to hear that the lower back is tolerating the heavier weight on deadlifts.

back to the drawing board...i know i sound like a broken record but this log is a log for when things are going good and for when things are going bad...this year, as far as training is concerned, they have been going bad...last night my left lat went crazy on me and i won't say anything more about that...i have awesome friends who took great care of me and i'm very fortunate for that...this is the second time i have basically collapsed in the gym and it's not a good feeling being on your back in extreme pain...this is not how i envisioned this going...i was kind of thinking i'd be in the trenches with Chris as he got ready for this show...just side by side destroying things...but, it has happened like that...not even close...i'll update this sometime...but i need a huge re-evaluation of everything i'm doing in the gym...because one day i might go down and not get back up

"Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But, to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength."

today i didn't do much of anything other than ice and take some anti-inflammatory meds...i pretty much had muscle spasms most of the day. This last episode in the gym scared me pretty **** good. I am completely changing my mindset...before i was working around things...working around things and trying to do as much as i could get away with...i think it might be better to start over completely...i need to get lifting heavy weights out of my mind, i need to get competing out of my mind...and the only thing that needs to be on my mind is getting back to a physical/mental state that i once i had...this past year i've lost everything that made me who i was in the gym...i used to feel like i could knock down f'n walls and i used to be a savage in the weight room and that just hasn't been the case because i haven't been physically capable of it...hell, the past couple months i've been training scared...bottom line, i'm going to try and get back in there when these spasms die down...i'm aiming for Tuesday...probably total body, low loads, probably blood flow restriction...back to square one

i'm just looking back at this log to draw any type of motivation i possibly can for the journey ahead...i found this post from 4-14-2009

"they joked around calling me "2 Strong" because i was weak

they joked around calling me "shortie" because i was really small

i then started working out...went from 145 to 205 in one summer

they said i'd never compete

i competed

they said i couldn't get lean enough to compete

a certain somebody said i looked like ****, wouldn't make it as a bodybuilder

i take time off to grow

the gym crowns the winner of the show 6 months before the show, they know i'm competing, they don't even give me a chance

guess what?

I sit back and i take it all in...everything anybody has ever said to me or about me i will remember...i remember everytime they wrote me off...i will remember everytime i got overpowered because i wasn't strong enough yet...i remember everything...and i am very bitter about it...just know this...others go into a show because they want to do a show...they want to have fun...they want to compete...i'm not going there to compete...i'm going to battle...and don't think i'm just using it as a metaphor...i'm training for war...i am training to bring the house down...i want to be your nightmare...let up once...and i will catch you...let up twice...and it's over for you...I AM NOT A MAN...I BEGAN AS ONE, BUT NOW I AM BECOMING MORE THAN A MAN...AS YOU WILL WITNESS "

everytime i've set my mind to do something, i've done it...the guy i was talking about being "crowned" in the gym, i actually ended up placing ahead of...i'm deloading like a madman right now in hopes of getting my savage mentality back...my elbows and back need to heal up...i'll be back
