I have the genetics to be an Ectomorph. Over the last few years I have moved my body into more of a Mesomorph. It is very hard for me to gain muscle. I really haven't found anything to help with this. I have never benched a lot or had a very good upper body. My legs come along easily.
Is there anyone who could offer a workout or some kind of help for me? I'm 29 years old and my wife and I are trying to have our first child. I'd like to get into the best shape of my life before the little one comes.

You could try the P90X workout system that is advertised on tv or just use HIT training. It is discussed on the forum here. Just do a search for it. Also, you need to EAT FOOD and drink lots of PROTEIN shakes. It sounds like you either have a very fast metabolism or just don't eat much.
Simply put, there are two things you should do to increase your muscle mass. You must workout very hard with weights and tear the muscle fibers down so that they can heal and grow bigger. Also, you must feed your body with extra food during this healing time. (lots of protein) Remember that most people who lift weights do not do a very good job at it. When working out, you must focus on lifting as much weight as possible until you cannot lift anymore. Then, when you go to the gym the next time, add more weight and continue this. For a time, you may just find yourself getting stronger rather than bigger, but it will come with patience. Hope this helps. Anyone want to add anything? |

Im naturally ectomorph, you just have to eat as much as possible, and lift and much as possible.
Only weight I put on is muscle. |
