Default What is the perfect mindset for bodybuilding?

Ask my brother,

every time I am making my best gains I seem...well..insane. Literally during my best training and dieting cycles I lose site of reality, as if my logic circuits have been cut. Pain means nothing, and I am able to push myself to levels that would kill most. Now every time I feel my training or diet is stalled I try and get back in this state of mind because for me it seems necessary.

What do you feel your perfect mindset is?

Being Happy

There are some that find anger a motivation, or having a bad day where the workout is the stress releiver. That personally screws me up. If I have an argument with my wife for example, I don't want to work out, I want to resolve the argument. I just posted in my journal that my priorities are 1) God, 2) Family 3) Fitness. So for me, it makes sense that I can't get my best workout if I am upset with my wife or myself for being an idiot, lol.

So to sum it up, the better the mood I am in, the better I tend to do in the gym.

I get myself focused by thinking about bad things such as stressful days in work, trouble at home and combine it all. i get so wound up and seem to vent my frustrations on my own body by lifting better and harder than before. I also concentrate and think better when im wriled up. And afterward i go home happy as i know my workout was good. Working out is stress relief as well as physical gain for me so i just remember that everytime i work out and im then motivated.
i guess the mindset to have is a focused and thoughtful one, whether that be the use of stress to make you push harder or thinking about your future gains. both work well for me.

Schwarzenegger's mind set if you can train harder than anyone else and have the confidence to stand on stage staring at the judges daring them to place you lower than first

Ever since my iPod was stolen, I just listen to music that really pumps me up on the way. A lot of times I get in a very serious mindset when I'm in the preworkout time period. When I get in there I look at myself in the mirror and use that as my motivation, I hit it hard and during rest periods I think of those magazine articles that Animal puts out with a huge bodybuilder sitting on a bench with a protein shake in his hand lol.

I usually spend about 20 mins getting my state of mind right before i hit the gym. I close my eyes and picture myself going through my routine and reaching the goals i've set myself for the day. Really notice the difference when i don't prepare like this.

Hi
Can anyone here plz guide me abt the exercise "reverse flyes" in Animal's 8-week shoulder blitz ? i cannot make out even a bit of it even after going thru it many times.
any help will be appreciated.

i also go through somewhat similar mind set while hitting the gym .. as my way of thinking forces me not to think in any specific way every time instead randomly at each occasion..

My mindset when I was in the gym was each rep to perfection. I didn't care who or what was around me. I knew my reps didn't help anybody else, or they could not help me.
