Really simple question, I can't remember what one of the core lifts was. Bench press, Row, Squad, Deadlift, ???
Im actually not even sure row was one of them. -R

Theyre all core lifts. The main ones being Squat, Bench PRess and Deadlift. Barbell Rows are also a very good exercise

Don't forgot the Olympic lifts and their variants.
Basically a core lift is what you would start your workout with. These are often total body movements. At the very least a multi-joint lift such as the bench press which is very demanding on the triceps, deltoids, and pectorals.

The following are usually considered to be the Big 4:
- Squat (Back, Overhead, Front) - Deadlift (Traditional, Sumo) - Press (Military, Bench) - Clean (Power, Full, Hang) But in the modern gym world the Big 5 would be as follows: - Squat - Deadlift - Bench Press - Military Press - Barbell Row

- Squat - Deadlift - Bench Press - Military Press - Barbell Row [/ QUOTE ] I second this. You don't have to necessarily do a Military Press, but a BB shoulder press of some kind SHOULD be included.

So your two logical options are a Traditional Military Press or a Push Press. Seated Presses do not allow you to strengthen your core, back and shoulders for heavy overhead work. In simply terms Seated Press max has little real transference to other exercises, unless they are also done in a supported position.

As a note to the shoulder press discussion...standing single dumbbell presses are great too.
