I heard it's not necessary to avoid the egg yolk and only eat the egg white.
Any comments on the matter? |

i usually stick with the whites but sometimes i'll have a whole egg, maybe twice a week.
i don't really miss the yolk, so it's not a big deal skipping it. |

A couple yolks shouldn't affect your cholesterol levels, just don't overdo it. Saturated fats affect cholesterol more than cholesterol itself, so just watch your intake of that and you should be alright. It's a good idea to get regular blood tests for cholesterol regardless of your diet though.

You were enquiring a few days back how to gain weight. Well, whole eggs is your answer. If you keep your blood test regular, your cholesterol cannot get out of control.
If you want to spend a bit more money and live worry free, omega 3 eggs are safe to eat as much as you want. Whole eggs = mass gain. BLV DAT

BLV DAT [/ QUOTE ] It's true that I want to gain mass, but not in fat. For the past 2 weeks, part of my breakfast included 3 egg whites and 1 yolk. I discard the other 2 yolks. Then I read on somewhere that I don't have to throw the yolks away. I want to gain mass in Muscle.... so as it stands, I'm still not sure about this yolk thing. |

You're not going to gain fat from eating fat.
Three eggs is not sufficient breakfast. You don't have to throw away the yolks. You will gain muscle mass, how else are you going to gain mass but eating high calorie foods, especially being a "hard gainer".

Wouldn't whole eggs be a better dinner than breakfast? Keeping with the ideas that eating fats & carbs together stores fat. And morning is better to eat carbs due to insulin sensitivity?
Just wondering.

Eating fats in moderation will not make you fat.
I've been on a low carb, HIGH FAT, HIGH PROTEIN diet for the past few months, and I've managed to stack on mass, while getting leaner. What does that mean? Means I am gaining muscle. What is the rest of your breakfast, 2 egg whites and a whole egg is around 15 grams of protein. Unless you're having 2 more scoops of whey or beef/chicken/tuna for breakfast, that is not a sufficient amount of protein. Yes, fats and carbs should be split, but fats from eggs can be taken with moderation with carbs. Eggs = best source of protein, oats = best source of carbs. That's a hell of a breakfast. So having 1 scoop of protein, some eggs and oats is not a bad combination, although many will disagree with eggs, due to fats not being the greatest meal for breakfast.
