Default what about complex carbs post workout?

I am taking the right amount of dextrose in my postworkout shake...but I workout right before supper. Is it ok to eat some complex carbs while I sip on the second half of my pwo shake? Or do complex carbs slow down the absorbtion of proteins?

It slows down the gastric emptying because it is a solid, so no, it's not advised.
