Well I live in the states, but I'm getting my undergrad in exercise science. I know a guy that just graduated with the same degree and he got a job in Chicago training for a private clinic and I think he will be making around $50/hour. There will be always be a demand for trainers because health will always be an important aspect of life. As for the opportunities, making that much money to start off is probably unlikely, but depending on your area and work ethic, I'm sure lots of money can be made in the training industry.

I'm also in the U.S. I did personal training when I worked at Blank Total Fitness and the pay ranges from $18-54/hour there.. The price variations has to do with which package the consumer buys. However, don't expect to be making $50/hour for 40 hours weekly. You have to be a good salesperson to do personal training because you're selling yourself as the service. My friends who are still personal trainers work between 20-40 hours weekly and a couple make upwards of $70k yearly. It starts off slowly, but once you develop a clientele it's pretty easy to make a good living. Try to get in a community with good demographics and a relatively high income level.

Yes that will help, especially if you're face-to-face.

Good advice down to die! There definitely is not one price for personal training. One personal training at my gym makes 65 dollars an hour and trains all the athletes, which some may train celebs and make millions.
I think the key is education/certifications, experience, and getting your name known. Are you in an education program (school), to learn this field? Also get certified through a highly recognized organization. The most recognized are NSCA, and ACSM. |

The Heart is the Master, the Mind is a Traitor Full of Experience, of Knowing and Skill. Yet the Heart, Full of Wisdom, wherein lies Mercy And Life, therein lying the Power of Thought. The Mind knows nothing, save it what it is told, Yet the Heart, receives Revelation Where inner Power unfolds. The Difference between what is Right, And what is Easy, the Body knows not, But the Mind tells of one Thing, While the Heart Whispers another. The Heart always knows, Whether or not the Mind acknowledges or objects. The Keys of Happiness Heart holds, And of Greatness and of Glory, But the Mind, it Knows nothing, Save what it is Told.” |
