Default Starting over...

The title says it... I'm starting over after a long time away from ABC and fitness. At one time I had lost 25 lbs. and got in pretty good shape, thanks to advice and instruction I found here.

For the last 4 months I have eaten a terrible diet and dropped all exercise from my life.

My question to you all is... Should I jump right into an intense program like the 12 or 13 week program OR go slowly at first. By going slowly I mean rather than shock my body and make it think I'm starving, just begin by cutting my calories slowly and doing light aerobics, gradually building up to the point that I can hit it hard again.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

THANKS!

I'm in about the same boat as you are and I have been doing a very clean bulk. I have been doing the 24 mass blitz and am a little more than half way done with it. I was really really sore the first week but am feeling better than ever now. I have lost 5 lbs, 2 inches off of my waist and my muscles are getting fuller and bigger. Of course I went from 3000 very dirty calories to 3500 very clean calories so I am guessing that is causing the fat loss. I also walk to and from work each day and that accounts for 1 hr a day low intesity cardio. I would say jump right in on the 24 mass blitz and get some muscle to show off when you cut and you also might end up losing some fat in the process. I hope this helps.

start out slow. maybe try building some muscle first, and cleaning up your diet. building muscle before trying to cut will allow you to cut more effectively, as youll be able to burn more calories per workout. this is just my opinion. im sure theres better responses to come.
