Default Exercise and Breastfeeding

I just read about some interesting studies regarding the effects of exercise on lactation. Don't know if there are any other nursing mothers on here, but thought I'd share....

Hi
Thanks for the info. Im 8 months post baby and Im just nursing twice a day now. I have been back at the gym exclusively for about 2 months now and noticed that I have had to EAT more since Im burning more energy at the gym. I do find myslef more fatiqued if I dont. Your supposed to consume an extra 500 calories daily for nursing...which I have but yet probably burn that off pretty fast lifting. Im about done with it myslef...there is TEETH NOW! hehe
Mommie say NO! :O

Hi jdf,
I started an online journal..the first post talks all about it...
no reason to be scared..its a beautiful experience
just being uncomfortable was the worst..she laied in my pelvic bone for 2 straight months head down..that was NO FUN
but looking back it was a short time and so well worth it.

Its scarey too when you have this big belly and fear you will be covered with stetch marks and majorly lose skin..but I managed to get out of both!!! lucky I guess .. I did drink like a fish and only gained 22 lbs little Bella was 9lbs...

I was so dieing to get back to the gym again!
I could proabbly post a pic but Im not sure if anyone would be offended by a big ole baby belly?
I guess Ive seen bigger guts in the members pic forums...at least I had an excuse! hehe

Bella, that is adorable! Glad you had such a positive experience and were able to get your body back. I have heard that if you go into it fit and healthy, all is better post birth - makes sense.

I think I can speak as an expert on this subject at least. I've had seven. Some of the pregancies have been harder than others, and some of the births have been harder than others. This last one I had was the most difficult in both categories (I'm getting OLD.) But at the end of the game, it's not about the pregnancy, the labor, the stretch marks - it's about the baby. And for all the difficulties I had having my last one, he is the sweetest, happiest, smilingest baby I've ever had (excluding this last week where he's been plagued with gas!)

As far as breastfeeding - I don't stop when they get teeth. Nursing babies rarely bite.
