I'm 36 years old, and I have always been THE quintessential hardgainer. when I was in the Army i had to get by the pt on willpower because my body didn't want to respond to the stim. To make a long story short, I went to my doc for help. He initially gave me Testred 10 mg q/day..to some effect, but is very hepatoxic. Now I am on Testosterone Cypionate (depo test) 200mg q/week. It is everything I ever dreamed...but am I cheating?\ if it feels this good, somehow it must be bad any opinions? thanks Lee |

Take a good look at the side effects of using steroids and testosterone boosters, and then decide for yourself if it is good or bad.

How can a doctor prescribe anabolic steroids? Didn't know they could do that

Low levels of testosterone is a considered a medical condition and testosterone in some form is given to patients with this condition.
I would not consider this cheating because you naturally have low test levels and the added boost is just leveling you out with everyone else. |

That's not the point.
He's not using them to beat people in competition. He's using them to grow at a normal rate. If he's not using them illegally then I don't see what is wrong with it. |

It's not cheating. How would it be?
Did you not seek out this doctor because you felt that you had a problem? I know he didn't come to you trying to tempt you. I'm never one to say that physicians are always right, because that certainly isn't the case. If you feel it's wrong in your heart, nobody here is going to change your mind. If you feel it's wrong and decide to go ahead because that's the consensus, you're just lying to yourself and that will be your downfall. |

I feel there is a big difference between cheating and having a medical condition that requires the use of Anabolics.
I feel I may have a low level of Testosterone but have never had it checked out. One of these days I'll take some time to get it looked at. As far as the comment that his prescription is just "leveling the playing field" ....that isn't entirely true. While he does have low T levels, no one has a natural T level equivilant to 200 mg of Test a week. Just enjoy the added benefit you are recieving and go with the flow. Otherwise, ask him if lowering your dose would be ok (though I wouldn't) You are in win-win situation. You get the benefits of elevated Testosterone and constant Doctor supervision. How many bodybuilders wish they were in your shoes?

[/ QUOTE ] I agree. A medical doctor prescribed these to him, he didn't go to Mexico to get them. To the original poster, you can seek a second opinion of a qualified MD to set you mind at ease. I wouldn't think there is any reason for alarm, just don't abuse them. The abuse is what will get you the side effects.

I still believe that this is perfectly fine but you're going to be growing pretty quick now. I say enjoy it. |
