I passed the written!
Wahoo!
I scored 20 points above the cutoff for the written Columbus FF exam. August 31st is my date for my physical capabilities test and my oral interview. Now, it's time to start getting really nervous. The physical is in my hands, the oral is in someone else's. I'll give it up to God to carry me through. So, the physical is this: All events require the wearing of a 40 pound weighted vest. Stair Climb: Victim Rescue: Hose advance: Cable Crossover: We have an opportunity to attend up to 3 all day practice sessions. I am definitely hitting up the first one. The events definitely require a good bit of cardio endurance and stamina. I am pretty sure I've gotten the strength, so that's why I am focusing on so much cardio in my workouts from here on out. I feel queasy just thinking about it. Just grabbing the handrails on the stair stepper will cause you to be disqualified. What if I simply lose my balance? Man. I am so nervous....

Thanks Kyle. My stairstepper workout this morning has calmed me down a bit. It wasn't hard at all. So, I got that in the back of my mind. I have decided that if it were meant to be, He will give it to me.

I think the extra 40 pounds might help keep your mass centered more for the stair stepper, so that could help in the stair stepper! ...maybe?

hey, good luck man. make sure you pace yourself on your physical test because a friend of mine is a FF and he said so many guys go all out in the first part then are completely exhausted on the last phase. good luck
