Default Recommend a book!

I have a $25 gift certificate and I'm looking to get a good book on nutrition or biomechanics or something similar. I'm not looking for something like Arnolds Encyclopedia or anything like that but rather a good scientific book perhaps recommended by our gracious leaders. I'm no leader but...

I would hugely recommend this book:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0072556...6167057?ie=UTF8

Its an incredible text that covers a huge amount of exercise physiology. It goes from muscle physiology, to environmental physiol, to nutrition and sport specific applications.

However it will cost a lot more than $25. I do think there are not too many great academic texts for $25 dollars or less though. (unless you think about the second hand option).

Thanks for the suggestion Ryan! Looks like a great resource. I ended up using the gift certificate on "Horses Don't Lie." by Chris Irwin. My ex is huge into horses and she got me into them and this guy is a very enlightened individual; applying humans relationship with horses to a humans relationship with oneself and other such matters. I've read his second book "Dancing with Your Dark Horse" and found it fascinating.

I figured I had to explain myself for getting a book about horses.
