Default Method\'s Cutting Journal - Trying to get SHREDDED!

Hello all, I'm going to be doing a cutting program this summer, I'll post my diet and fitness routine for your critique and ideas! (And motivation [img]/forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img])

First some stats,

Age: 19
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 192 (Was 208 a month ago)

Goals for the summer: Well I started early May around 205-210, I would like to be a lean cut 180 by August 25, 2006. I'll keep you guys up to date on my progess as often as possible!
My diet is focusing getting adequeate protein and vitamins/minerals, along with carbs for energy.

Diet:

6:00 [Meal 1] - 4 Egg Whites
2 Slices of 100% Whole Wheat Bread
Multivitamin
Mug of Green Tea (Love this stuff)

9:00 [Meal 2] - .5 Cup of Mixed Nuts (Planter's)
3 Medium stalks of celery

11:40 [Meal 3] - Medium sized salad (Greens, boneless
chicken breast, fat free italian dressing)

2:30 [Meal 4] - (Still working on this one, I'll be at my
desk at work, so something with protein and
something quick/easy/transportable, Ideas
anyone please?)

5:30 [Post Workout] - Whey 100% ON Chocolate shake, some
oats grinded in there)

6:50 [Dinner, Meal 6] - Varies, whatever is on the stove!
But it contains usually one portion
of lean protein source, and one
fibrous green vegetable source)

10:00 [Bedtime] - 3 ZMA Pills (ON)

Please review this diet and include anything that I'm missing and see if my cals are ok! (I'm going for about 200-300 under maitenence, which would be about 1700)

The workout: (Focusing on compound heavy movements, incorporating supersetting for added benefits)

[Day 1]: Chest/Shoulders/Back

12/10/8/12 Unless Noted Otherwise:
- Barbell Bench superset w/ Back Laterals
- Dumbell Decline/Incline superset w/ Barbell Rows
- Military Press B/B

[Day 2]: Biceps/Triceps/Forearms

- Barbell Curls superset w/ Skull Crushers
- Preacher Curls superset w/ Cable Pushdowns
- Dips superset w/ Wrist Curls (or Front Raises)

[Day 3]: Quads/Calves/Hamstring

- Squats (Love 'em [img]/forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]) superset w/ Hamstring Outer
Leg Press
- Standing Calf Raises
- Deadlifts on Alternating days with squats

[Day 4]: 2 Hour Boxing Routine

- 10 Minute Jump Rope
20 Min Heaby Bag Rounds
10 Min Double End Bag
10 Min Speed bag

Core work:

25 Crunches x2
25 Leg Raises x2
25 Side and Back Laterals x2

[Cardio]: For cardio, the best time to fit it into my
schedule is at the morning (around 5am-6am) and I
will be doing 20 minute jog at medium intensity,
for Monday-Friday)

So, I've been having some success with this diet so far (about 2 1/2 weeks in) can you guys post your comments and what you think of my plan? Thanks alot!!!

I would suggest working out the macros for your meals. that way you'll know how many you are getting of each.

If you need to tweak things, it'll be easier to make the changes and see what effects they have.

Meal 4 --
3oz can of tuna, mixe in some dill relish and mustard, eat in a low carb whole wheat wrap (that's what I'm doing today for one of my meals).
or, cook up some chicken and veggies, and put them in a cooler and take with you.

Thanks. Anyone have any good recommendations for a mid afternoon snack, something I can bring into work daily?

Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday I had GREAT workouts. Awesome intense cardio in the morning, and absolutely destroyed the weight room. Yesterday was legs and some stiff legged deads with squats really got the muscles pumped.

Today I cheated. We had a company meeting with pizza, and I just caved in, had about 6 medium sized, greasy slices. Boy it was disgusting, yet so good at the same time. I bloated up and felt sluggish and fat until I hit the gym, had a decent chest workout. Now I'm slugging my PWO shake and getting ready for chicken breast w/ broccoli for dinner [img]/forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
