Default What\'s the point of the amino acid shooter?

My friend pointed out that the pure whey has more amino acids as the shooter does. Here's what he's asking:

"Average Amino Acid Profile Per 100 Grams of Protein
L-Leucine 11,000 mg
L-Isoleucine 5,900 mg
L-Valine 5,000 mg
L-Lysine 8,400 mg
L-Methionine 2,000 mg
L-Phenylalanine 2,900 mg
L-Threonine 7,000 mg
L-Tryptophan 1,500 mg
L-Arginine 2,000 mg
L-Cystine 2,900 mg
L-Glutamic Acid 17,700 mg
L-Histidine 1,600 mg

Compared to the amino acid shooter...

Amino Acid Profile
L-Leucine 1,750 mg
L-Isoleucine 800 mg
L-Valine 800 mg
L-Lysine 800 mg
L-Methionine 200 mg
L-Phenylalanine 800 mg
L-Threonine 850 mg
L-Histidine 500 mg
Glutamine 1,000 mg

So what's the point of getting the amino acid shooter?"

I don't know what to tell him, so I'm deciding to just post it rather than searching around in the articles looking for the answer.

Caloric efficiency and greater peak of aminos in the blood stream are 2 reasons. It's great shortly before a workout or between meals. Read the JHR series on protein from several months back for more details.

Dude, just look your friend in the eye, pause, and then say, "It's SCIENCE."

As stated, the amino acid shooter is incredibly caloricly efficient. Which is defined as the amount of muscle growth produced to a given amount of calories consumed. The Amino Acid shooter can stimulate an equal amount of muscle growth as a normal protein meal containing double the calories.

Results also indicate that the faster digesting the protein is, the greater the rate of protein synthesis will be; which is another advantage of the amino acid shooter, as it is very easily digested.

It also excludes the amino acid trytophan. This is based on studies that show this amino acid causes "central fatigue" we discuss this in our articles.

It also contains other activie ingrediants, such as Glucuronolactone, which appears to enhance concentration.

It will also help avoid gastrointestinal problems during your workout, and help prevent blood being shunted towards your stomach to digest the whey protein, which will be more difficult to digest.

However, you cannot get the amount of protein you need from just the amino acid shooter.

The amino acid shooter is a must pre-workout for sure. Otherwise, whey protein is excellent post exercise, breakfast, and also with other meals.

Kroenen,

Nice to see you continuing to cause controversy after a 2 month hiatus. That is great. I would love to hear what you think about this topic..but, hopefully with a little bit more depth of thought.

Welcome back to the boards!
