Default The Big Guy\'s Summer Cut

Hey y'all. I'll be posting here rather infrequently, because I don't have too much time.

I don't have a set training regime right now, I'm probably going to work on that tomorrow; then again, I like to just go spur of the moment.

Anyways, a little bit about me.

I'm 19. I'm in college. I'm trying to get to peak shape, which I've never been in because of football. I was a lineman so I stayed big and strong, but never cut and fit.

I weigh about 265lbs/120.45KG. I haven't had bodyfat tested accurately, last time was a free "infrared" test they did at my YMCA, which came out to 19.9% putting me at 212 LBM. Hopefully I'll get one by the end of summer.

Stuff I look forward to incorporating into my workouts...
HIIT, Tabata Method, 20 rep squats, Sports training, powerlifting, and strength training. I love odd exercises, so if you guys have any you want to share with me, post them and I'll put them in my next workout.

Current Lifts
Bench 275
Squat 405
Dead 495

My lifts aren't where I want them to be, I did too much partying in school and not enough lifting.

Sorry for the long post, I'll try to get more stuff up tomorrow.

Minimum of a weekly update with as much info as possible.

Later guys.

alright guys, i just finished my first tabata intervals on a stationary bike.

wake up 11 am, browse forums, what not.

1220: pre cardio smoothie, 1 scoop protien powder, ice, one large banana.

1250: tabata intervals.
5 minutes warmup at 90 rpm
Tabata Score
1- 180 rpm
2- 180 rpm
3- 178 rpm
4- 175 rpm
5- 163 rpm, fatigue sets in.
6- 159 rpm, legs killing me.
7- 155 rpm, legs falling off pedals
8- 143 rpm, lungs and legs begging for mercy.
5 minutes cooldown at 60 rpm.

each interval was 20 seconds, during the 10 seconds rest, i did not pedal.

btw, in those 12 minutes and 40 seconds where i was performing work, i traveled 7.5 miles.

about to take a shower and have a pwo meal, most likely salad with some tuna.

comments welcome.

well, i just did some yard work, and let me tell you something.

chopping and carrying logs is **** good exercise. my arms were dead AND pumped after only 15 minutes of hard chopping. and then i carried the logs (from ~75-~175lbs) to the woods in an overhead walking squat and threw them (maybe 10 ft, lmao). ****. hard.

Sounds like they know what they're doing. I saw the parachute running lol. Sometimes the craziest methods can work wonders. Keep us informed!

Happy Lifting!

thanks gim, corrected my lift.

well.. have you guys ever had to sit through a lecture about something you've already decided on?

my bro just gave me a good talking about how i need to lose weight (check) i need to cut back on eating (no duh) and how instead of solely doing interval training (which i love and talk about alot) i should do a mix, maybe 3 interval, 3 steady state.

unfortunately, i had to sit there and take a verbal browbeating about everything i've already decided on doing because my bro won't listen to me.

haha, sorry for the rant fellas.

anyways, my bro and i now have a bet that i can't get down to 235 by september...

later.

can't really lift for a few days, which bums me out. i'm going to try to at least get running and bw exercises in though.

here's why..

today, work till 9 and no gyms in town open
tomorrow no gyms open
tuesday, i work one job from 7-330 and then my other from 5-9 not enough time to get a workout in. ****. maybe i'll go the gym at 5 am.

Hey Jrc, just browsing thru your journal, and I've notices you played football. You still playing? And if so why would you wanna lose weight if you are a lineman? Unless you are changing positions?

Also when are you gunna post some lifts in your journal?
