Better than nothing, but you should ingest slow-digesting casein protein directly before bed. Cottage cheese is a good source, or you could just get a casein protein powder. Brown rice is a good complex carb, though.

Actually, I would contend that salmon is a great pre-bed choice, given its fatty qualities and wonderful amino acid profile. I still think casein is top, but salmon isn't bad. The brown rice, on the other hand, is not optimal.
