Hi, im a newfound bodybuilding fanatic and as for now im quite skinny and weak. I tried to make a program myself and combined all the body parts of “8 weeks to …” into a 5 days routine and 2 days rest and it turns out that it was too much for me to handle so decided to make it a 6 days routine. The problem is that I think right now if I keep going this path I will overtrain and make things worse.
All the routines and guides on abc seem to be not quite beginner friendly so I would like to ask you guys whether you could give me a link to a beginner’s guide, a routine you used to start out with good outcomes or alike. I decide to only workout 3-4 days a week to start out easy and allow enough room for recovery. My short term goal is to become much stronger and obtain greater endurance, so I could focus on bodybuilding later on without getting injured. Thx a lot in advance, appreciate it.

As a newbie I go this route...
Sun- off Mon- Legs/Abs Tues-Shoulders Wed- Cardio/Abs Thurs-Chest/Triceps Fri- Back/Biceps Sat-Cardio/Abs But it all depends on what your goals are. Do you want mass, definition, or to lose weight. The best thing about this site is all the tips that will really prepare you for the future in your bodybuilding life. This really helped me... http://www.abcbodybuilding.com/self.php Welcome to the site!

Maybe i havnt explained myself clearly
Here is little about me, im 182cm (5.97foot) tall, weigh 67-68kg (132lb). Right now my goal is to become stronger, gain weight (NB! mostly muscle, BF% on a reasonable low level), I want to weigh 90kg (180lb) and I dont mind if it takes a couple of years. I start to eat 5kcal diet daily. And I could need a good beginner workout routine to accomplish this goal. Once this is accomplished, i would start working on definition on each body part.

your about EXACTLY where i started. and now im 150 and took my bench of 50lbs on 4 weeks. im sure this is what ur trying to do. but what u gotta do is want it. I feel like ur not bringing the intensity to the table. i took the 8 weeks programs into 5 day workout no problem. You need to get a good diet. I mean i dont know to much cuase im still a beginner, im just saying this is what im doing. I think your just what i call a "wanter" not a "doer" in the weight room. see theres people who want to get big but lift and when they get sore they rest forever then lift again get sore, instead of pushing through it all. like a doer would. if you want to get bigger you gotta devote yourself to the weightroom. you lift hard for the whole time your in there. and when ur not in their you eat right make sure ur getting enough of everything esp. sleep.
this sounds harse. but its constructive criticism. |

I really recomend the 24 workout mass training program and diet. When I first came to abc last june(I didnt join untill a bit later) I weighed between 170 and 175lbs. As of yesterday, I weighed 204lbs. I have had amazing results, and this training program is what started me off in the right direction.
