what is sounds like with ur legs is you pulled or strained one of your groin muscles, fairly common, and you should recover from it in 1-3 weeks, seems like ur already recovering though, can be from alot of diffrent things, bad form with squats, or simply working them to hard, i messed up my right one when we had to hit the sleds durng f.b season, i did it wrong and messed mine up. same thing happend to a thing in my foot after doing to much on calf raisers...but your coaches should be able to size up any kind of problem you get, even though it hurts to stretch it when its hurt, after it heals back up, stretching is a sure fire way to prevent in in the future,

nice lifts for sophmore, specially the bench!

This week will be very screwed up. It sucks because I made a split and I've only been able to follow it for one week without something happening that changes everything. Anyway, I still can't squat. 225 hurt like a *****. And also, it is max week for my Weight Training class. I'll be able to do most of my maxes in the morning though because my class teacher will be in there because my football coach had knee surgery this weekend. Hopefully next week I will be able to get back on my schedule.

Morning-Chest, Tris

Bench
1x8, 135
1x5, 185
1x4, 205
1x1, 225
1x1, 245
1x1, 255
1x1, 260-That's pretty good considering I couldn't even get 200 sometimes during wrestling season.

Class-Chest Tris

During class I decided to switch things up a little bit by doing some decline stuff

Decline Bench
1x8, 135
1x5, 185
1x4, 205
1x2, 225

Decline DB Press
8x8 w/ 50's

I really like DB Presses and different variations of it. I've only recently started doing them and I think they are a big part of the reason why my Chest/Arms are getting so much stronger. I definitely recommend them.

All in all, It was an alright day. I didn't work as hard as I usually do, but I confirmed to myself that I can actually get 260 and that it wasn't luck or spotter help or anything. Plus the 8x8 decline DB presses felt pretty good. But next time I'll do them with 60's.

Man, today sucked. Our football coach was supposed to come back today but didn't and my weight training teacher didn't know. So no one came to supervise us. We were just waiting outside the weightroom doing nothing until 7:00 until we finally got the janitor to supervise us (she's nice). So I only got a 30 min workout in. I had almost no rest in-between sets. Here's what I did:

Morning-Upper Back

One-Armed DB Rows
8x8, w/ 60 Lb DB

Seated Bent Over Rows
8x8, 130

Then, today at school we had an assembly and instead of making each class shorter, they just did normal schedule but made the assembly go during 5th period (my WT period! ) So I didn't get to do anything else today.

All this stuff I'm saying about assemblies/squats hurting, etc may sound like bs/excuses to some of you, but everything I've said is completely true and I'm seriously getting po'd. This is spring, the time of year that I'm supposed to be making the best gains since last summer.

I had everything planned and in order that I need to be hardcore and get those great gains, but nothing is going right. It's pretty frustrating.

Also bro, you might want to rember how much time you spent between each set, everything else about your journal looks pretty good, AND you might want to add what you ate every day/supplements/sleep etc, just to help you look back and see how the trends affected your gains

Edit-A-Rooie
no reason to get PO'ed about not meeting your goals and stuff man, lifting takes time, everyone on this site can tell you that, no ones born with 17" rock hard biceps& tricpes as big as fire hoses, lifting takes time. and if ur stressed out about meeting your goals, you might be shooting yourself in the foot before you even get on the starting line, because people who are stressed out tend to make smaller gains, than those not stressed

Morning-Powercleans
Powercleans
1x8, 115
1x6, 135
1x4, 155
1x2, 175
1x1, 185
1x6, 135

Got 3-4 min. rest in-between sets. Left at about 7:20 because I was very sweaty and needed to take a shower.

Class-Speed/Footwork

Plyometrics
I did plyometrics with the ladder thing all period. Got a great sweat.

Today was a pretty good day. I actually got to do everything I wanted to do, and I think it helped me grow as an athlete and not just get stronger. I liked today for a couple of reasons. Even though I didn't get a new max for powercleans, my class teacher was there and gave me all kinds of advice. I think I got a lot better at them. Maybe I'll get 205+ sometime this summer. Also, I liked the plyometrics. I don't do them often but I think I'm going to do these more often now. I think they'll make me a lot faster and give me better footwork for wrestling and football too.

3x5, 155
3x3, 175
3x5, 155
2x5, 135
1x6, 115
1x8, 95

Sweet Workout. I took jth16's advice to do more sets. I took about 2 minutes rest between sets, sometimes more if someone wanted me to spot them.

Class-Biceps, Triceps

Morning-Legs

Squats
2x6, 135
2x4, 225
2x3, 275

Straight Legged Deadlifts
1x8, 95
3x8, 165
2x8, 185

Leg Curl Machine
5x10, w/ the whole stack

Class-Legs

Deadlift
1x8, 245
1x6, 280
1x4, 320
1x2, 360
1x1, 400
1x2, 360
1x4, 320
1x6, 280
1x8, 245

Today, I squatted for the first time in a few weeks. On my second set of 3 with 275, I felt my groin hurt just a little bit on each one, so I finished the set and decided not to do any more because I think next week, I will be perfectly back to normal again. During class, my teacher made us do a pyramid thing on one of the core lifts, so I decided to deadlift.

Last Friday, I maxed on Deadlifts and could only get 405. I tried for 425 and got it at least half way up but couldn't finish it off. So I have the same max, but I think I got a little stronger.

P.S. Tomorrow I will only be able to work my chest/triceps in the morning because for class, we will be doing some sprinting or something.
