ok well i have a set schedule for my work outs. mon-wed-fri's are my weight training days and sun-tue-thur's are my light cardio days. my goal is to lose some body fat while maybe toning up my muscles that why i do cardio but only for 30 minutes each time.
anyways...the way i'm training right now, on my weight training days i'm usually at the gym for 1 1\2 to 2 hours each time...is that too much? i'm doing a total body workout doing a couple sets for each type of body part like a couple excercises for my biceps, then a couple for my triceps, back, shoulders, etc etc. is this ok to do? i don't know but i just feel better doing everything overall in one day compared to doing it one day at a time with one muscle group at a time...is this ok to do? ok thanks! ~john |

Seems like a bit much but I do think you will burn more calories volume training.

I think u should be splitting your days up in body sections training. Chest/tri ,back/bi, shoulders/legs. or a variation of that. U should not exercise a section until 4days have past so that body part can recover.

cool thanks for all the advice. yea right now i'm doing my mon-wed-fri work outs about 1.5 hours in the gym covering all my muscle groups but i'm not too sure on this so i may just do 2 groups monday, another 2 wednesday, and another 2 friday. how long do muscles usually tak to recover? maybe i'm not giving my muscles enough time to recover by working the same group over again every other day?
