Hey, first post on the site, I just tried making these bars, and I added some more water to it, since it didnt seem to be mixing well, I couldnt get the whey to mix in. Threw it in the oven at 350 for about 20 mins. and they came out nicely. As said before, kind of a cakey texture, but I think I can take them with me now which is good

[ QUOTE ] You could try baking them for 5-10minutes on a cookie sheet. [/ QUOTE ] I tried with champion, and it ruins it. I am thinking of trying ON. Apparently, they have some that are good with cooking. [/ QUOTE ] Hey Venom, I remember reading that you were going to try baking with ON in another thread once too. Was it the "Any Whey" from ON that is able to be baked, or is it ok to use any of the wheys? I thought it was only the "Any Whey" and Champion wheys that can be baked, but I'm just making sure.

Yeah, that looks accurate to me. If you try it, let me know how it goes!

I actually do this.
Cook oats, melt the P.B, mix it, add whey (plenty) and put it in the fridge over night, makes it in to a pudding type form. Tastes good and it always comes out right I dunno if it's been mentioned in here before.

It hasnt been said very directly as far as i can understand it. We are taking the water and PB and melting it in a sauce pan, then added the oatmeal plus whey and mix? Or melting PB in a microwave and then just mixing?
This sounds delicious and I can't wait to get home and try it! I've been looking for a way to get away from sugar and use oatmeal to good advantage, especially for a on the go snack. Edit: I mixed it all together in a saucepan over low heat and put themin the fridge, they hardened up pretty quickly and taste great, will see how it goes tomorrow though on the go. Edit#2: Okay, it worked out great, stayed in its solid form just fine after being in the fridge over night and it was pretty hot today. The bottoms were a bit softer than the tops, but still retained its form. It was delicious and filling (i ate the whole thing and a cup of raw oatmeal as breakfast) but it could use some kind of sweetener. I'll give it a try and let ya all know what i think.

these are delicious,
i'm not doing very well getting used to the whey protein flavor (pro-NOS french vanilla, is this even a good one?) but i made these and theyre awesome. if they're not hardening you probably didn't use enough dry ingredients for the amount of peanut butter and water. just keep topping it off with more oats and maybe some flax seed. |

I made my second batch today. Awesome tasting.
I wish it would get a little harder than they do. I take them with me to work but if I don't leave it in the fridge, it kind of melts and gets soggy. I really like them though. Thanks for the recipe. |

I get great results with this version:
3 cups of oats 1 cup of skim (low fat) milk 1/2 cup of natural almond butter 4 scoops of whey protein (I've only used strawberry) optional scoops of ground flax After mixing it up, I smooth it out on a baking tray and put it in the fridge overnight. The next day, I cut them to 6 pieces and wrap one individually. I keep them in the fridge and take one out whenever needed.

These are great Venom! I'm gonna keep making them and try some different things for variety. Overall- better (and cheaper) than most protein bars that you buy in the store.
