Default Shoulder Pain...Ice or Heat???

I am have recently noticed a sharp pain in my shoulder from my physical part-time job and training. It feels to be under the actual deltoid muscle and around the areas of where my collar bone connect to my sternum and shoulder. What type of remedy would you suggest to help with the pain and aid recovery.

In the acute injury phase, the 48-72 hours after an injury occurs: use ice. Only ice, do not apply heat in this phase.

IN your case however the injury has already occured and now sounds as if it maybe recurring? immediately after a workout or physical labour I would use ice to reduce any inflammation which may have developed during the work.

Before a workout i would apply heat to warm up and increase circulation, readying the area for work.
