Today was really strange day, especially my workout. So let’s begin with what happened. I woke up at 8:30 and had 2 scoops whey protein, 2 scoops carbs (Dorian Yates), 5 g glutamine, 1g vitamin C and an apple. I packed my training bag and headed to my gym. At 10:00 I was there. Changed and begin worming up. Today was back/biceps/forearms day – the last workout from my 24 workout mass blitz. I started with some stretching for my shoulders, arms and back then performed 3 light sets of seated cable rows just to start the blood flowing. The problem was…at the last set of these I felt discomfort mainly in my head. At the beginning slight headache appeared in the area behind my ears and my neck. And it became worse!!! When I started worming up my lower back with some dead lifts I felt my head was going to explode! I’ve never experienced such feeling before such a strong headache. Then I tried to do my first set of bend over barbell rows. It is supposed to be heavy set 6 reps plus 3 cheated reps. Usually no problem for me I like when it is hard and I scream my throat out in pain from the burn….BUT today was horrible. The pain in my head was so strong that I wasn’t able to concentrate on my lifting. I set down and started thinking why this was happening. What I came up with was that probably I had really low sugar in my blood. That was the only think I could think of. I always care with my stuff diabetic chocolate bar for extra carbs. So I had it as quick as I can. Strange it may seem but after 10-15 minutes I was improving and felt better. What is more I had hell of training. I was like animal! I did my double drop set on the behind the neck pull-downs with 5 kilos more on each part of the set. And even my grip was just fine (well really destroyed but I could hold the bar). Usually I tend to almost drop the bar at the last 1-2 reps. It was incredible! For first time I really felt my mind-muscle connection. I just closed my eyes and concentrated on breathing and imagined every rep was as if I was a bird and was waving my wings (strange how I came up with this exactly). Then I completely destroyed my biceps and forearms. Even now when I am writing I feel them really weird and I know tomorrow they will hurt like hell (YEAH!). What is more when I was almost done I was heading to take some extra plates for my easy curls and in one of the mirrors just for a second I saw a back of a guy. “Wow that’s nice back” – I thought and turned to see this guy…that was me! Accidentally I found a spot in my gym which allows me to see my back without a problem (strange combination of mirror reflections). I was amazed how I can’t recognize myself, but also really pleased with the new spot I found. From now on this will be my favorite spot – today I spend maybe 15 minutes just posing and looking at my back- it makes huge difference watching yourself on pictures and in real time. Amazing – my bulk till now was successful. Thanks to your website and I am becoming what I want! I feel grate – still a bit worried about what happened at the beginning of the workout. Do you have any explanation about it? Is my body already exhausted or it is something else? Well now I will rest for sure.

Firstly, well done on what you've achieved. Secondly, i dont have a clue on what happened with your head. Maybe you should consult a doctor or something?

Ive never read anybody describing anything like what you experienced. I recommend you see a doctor, as the seriousness is not known. Hope all goes well

ive known people who have experienced pain similar to what you are refering too. alot of times it was due to improper form causing a strain in the neck. however the fact it disappeared leads me to think there is another factor... have you a history of migraines? some migraines can be so dibilitating they take on symptoms beyond just a headache.
