Wow! I am very impressed by the knowledge spread in this thread! You guys are awesome.
Marcus, that was incredible!!!! [ QUOTE ] MCT’s have been shown to optimally raise CCK levels compared to LCT’s, which would reduce hunger however there are conflicting studies on this. [/ QUOTE ] EXCELLENT research! Satiety is a huge interest of mine, so I would love if you could pass along any studies you run by, to me. What is interesting is that results show polyunsaturated fats typically have the highest satiety ranking, followed by saturated fats, followed by monounsaturated fats. However, I am not aware of studies that have thoroughly investigated the effects of different forms of saturated fats (i.e. MCT’s vs, long chain saturated fats) and different forms of polyunsaturated fats (i.e. omega 6 vs 3’s, or some other kind). That would be great research! [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Hey, what's a vegetarian like you, sucramdw, doing researching the benefits of steak? Living in Northwestern BC I get to feast on Moose Meat.
The tastiest meat I've ever had, highest in protein of any meat I've looked into, and very lean.

The President and I have some thoughts [/ QUOTE ] so.... I did all that research with the thought constantly in my head, "I wonder what Gabe and Jake are thinking about steak...must do more research!!" So, Gabe & Jake, was I remotely close with my findings? Also, I will be sure to send any studies I find on Satiety your way. It is definitely an interesting topic! I am excited to start supplementing with MCT's and feeling a difference. Especially because I dont eat meat, so I dont really get any carnitine in my diet, or a whole lot of MCT's. |
