Just make sure you give em wrong contact info (especially phone number) because they love to keep calling and asking if you want to join.

Yeah! Good idea. Gosh, someone is going to hate me, I'll probably give them some number to some poor soul....OMG, I hope it isn't going to fall into the Karma category!

You are moving remember...you don't have your phone hooked up yet. If they really want a number you can give them a fake one and say that it won't be yours for long.

Whenever I did it, I gave them my real number but I rarely ever got calls back.

Yeah, I guess I could just give 'em my cell, obviously I'd know when I see an odd area code calling me.

I sent you an email....with several gyms in the area, including a gym that thinks it is a resort with the most beautiful view from the swimming pool I had seen in a gym pool anywhere in the world...so far...

This is a Female Specific Board so I usually have never had the chance to come here...

I thought now one can post in the members board with no minimum posts anymore ?

About eating well in Palm Springs, trust me when i say that we do have great restaurants. Actually for the size of the population that live here, we do have huge varieties of restaurants.

Best Caesar Salad. Billy Reed's in Palm Springs wins it hands down. I have not had any Caesar salad that can match at this place. The dressing is just so good. It seems to be made according to the original Cesar Cardini's recipe from Tijuana Mexico, which uses beaten egg whites as a base for the dressing. Normally I do not eat croutons (they are just stale bread!!!) but their homemade croutons are just so rich and delicious and has that perfect buttery rich crunch...

We also have a local steakhouse so good that it is listed in the top 10 in the nation.... and it is available only locally in the Palm Springs area !!!

We also have a great seafood place called Fisherman's Restaurant that serve wild salmon freshly grilled to order that is so good and so perfectly flaky that it just makes my mouth water thinking about it. There is an early bird dinner special and that dish can be had for $8.99 with potatoes and homemade slaw and a cup of ice water from the tap (Palm Springs water is from underground and it is quite good water with no measurable levels of chlorine !!!)

PS- And NOW you tell me you are coming to CA? How dare you visit my state and not tell me? Are you dropping by San Francisco? You could meet all our ADMINS! *well, except Old School*

[/ QUOTE ]

I found out San Fran is like 14 hours from PS. Guess my rent a car company won't allow THAT one!

Actually took me 8-9 hrs to go to San Francisco...and one is driving through the most picturesque highway in the world, The Highway 1.

Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Big Sur, Monterey, Santa Cruz, Pigeon Point, Pescadero, Montara.....

And one can stay overnight at the Pigeon Point Lighthouse (one of the tallest lighthouse in the West Coast, built in the 1880's and has a redwood hot tub on a cliff facing the Pacific Ocean...) as well as Montara Lighthouse. I stayed in both and the view from the kitchen/dining room is just inspiring...seeing the surf do its ancient primordial dance and crashing against the rocks of ages...

There are no free passes by the way. Even for my guests, it has to be paid.

I recommend to pay for three days a week and then do cardio outside, like hiking the trails on Mt San Jacinto.

There is a brand new exercise spot opening today ! It is called the Wellness Park and is near the Desert Regional Hospital. It is on Tachevah and not far from Avenida Caballeros. I don't know what it looks like as they have it covered...LOL I think it will be uncovered today as they have the GRAND OPENING !!! So you can exercise for FREE OVER THERE !!! It is all landscaped and all... ALL OUTSIDE !!! imagine getting free sauna too in the summer time while you are exercising ! LOL It is 120 degrees in summer time here. Even after dark it does not drop below 100 degrees in summer time.
