Default DUP confusion

Wow, so lately Ive been seeing a lot of posts about DUP training. Im very interested. Ive read the article about periodization and what not, but im still a bit in the dark. Can someone set up their DUP split schedule or make up one to help clarify things for me?? Ive searched other posts as well and am still somewhat confused....

help!

Go to the journals forum and check out Venom's journal. He's posted his DUP split and it's a good one. It includes 2 a day workouts, but if you can only do one a day, you could just combine the workouts. It's a good split!

Hope that helps.

List the constrains of your schedule and the muscle group(s) that you wish to prioritize and we can device a DUP split that is suitable for you. Also training background, goals and previous experience would b usefull too

Well as far as background goes, Ive been lifting fairly consistently since HS which is about 3 years ago. I love feeding myself as much knowledge as possible about the subject. And Im willing to try just about anything at least once!

The contraints of my schedule are mainly due to school. So 2-a-days are not really possible. I am usually at the gym for between 1 and 2 hours. Im not really trying to prioritize any one muscle group, I prefer to train them all equally! If you can help me devise a DUP split regimen that would be awesome! Thanks a lot!

It is a form of periodization in which the load is undulated on a daily basis. Say you train a muscle group twice a week, one session would be heavy and the other light. Smaller muscle groups that can recover quicker may be trained three times in which case you can add a moderate session.

The advantages are avoiding accomodation due to programmed variation, increased frequency without the risk of overtraining because you are recrruting a different motor neuronal pool at each session and avoiding conditioning reactive inhibition.

Check the periodization articles for much more elaborate detail!
