Hi everyone,I,m just getting back into training after a gap of about 10 years (I,m 48 now-a bit long in the tooth I know but surely better late than never?),my problem is this,I,ve stripped off the fat that has accumaleted during that time but am finding it hard to shift the fat that has been around for years (my aim is to look betterthan I did 10 years ago).I am fairly well muscled but would still like more, but the effect is ruined by fat around my waistline.I do weights 3 times a week, cardio 3-4 times and eat well and healthy. Can anyone advise me on the best way to build muscle whilst losing fat at my age.Thanks.

I suggest you start reading the articles around here and people's journals. Check out the cut programs in the nutrition section as well.

Hi Calvo and welcome to ABC.
As book suggested, try to read the articles on this site. There's a wealth of information here that you can trust as nothing is posted in the articles unless it is well researched and backed up by scientific studies. I was in a very similar situation. I am now 43 and started working out at 39. Slowly but surely you will do it. It may take a little longer than it would an 18 year old but it definietly is doable; I am proof of that. Keep your diet clean, hit the gym 4 to 5 times a week, separate your cardio from your workout by at least 6 hours if done on the same day, and most importantly, follow the window of opportunity guidlines for post workout nutrition. Here's the link: http://www.abcbodybuilding.com/windowofopportunity.php and good luck. Please keep us posted on your progress.
