Default potential knee injury?

Pertaining to the 24 Mass workout blitz, in the second squat workout, he states to have your heels elevated while you squat. I heard this is very bad for your knees. Is this true? if so is there an alternative to this particular squat exercise?

i've never heard that it was bad for your knees...where did you hear that?

Personal trainer for the basketball team back in high school used to preach about how doing squats on your toes would damage your knees and I must say when I test it out with light weight it does feel like there is more pressure on the knees.

Just curious as to what you guys think.

For me, having my heels elevated is much more natural and I have no extra pressure on my knees. I almost never do them flat.

I am sure that if you use an incorrect form while having your heels elivated that it could do damage to you knees however, as long as you use proper form and not try to lift a house you will be fine.

alright well that makes sense I think I will just go with that idea in mind, thanks for the opinion guys

I personally have never had any problem with squats at any angel for knees,,but I use to be in 75th Rangers and jumping has made my knees kinda tender now.
