Default Maltodextrin = malt?

I'm been trying to track down some Maltodextrin and after talked to a person at the gym they said it's more commonly called malt, is this true, is malt and maltodextrin the same thing?

No, Malt is a grain used to make beer and other alcohols. You can soak Barley in water and get Malt.
