I dont know if it has been discussed before...I was thinking of taking casein pre workout maybe -1.5h. Also i am not talking about milk(high insulinemic response) or dairy products, but Casein powder maybe mixed with some whey in a 1/1 proportion. The goal is to keep a constant protein delivery during workout.
What do you think?

You could try it if you want. But, remember you want the majority of your pre-workout meal digested while you're working out. There is a smaller blood supply to the stomach while you're working out because there is more in your muscles.
Try oats and cottage cheese and see how it goes.

Well i am already eating a good pre workout meal and usually i take plain yogurt + egg whites with oatmeal.
But egg whites are pretty expensive if you want a good amount of protein(same with cottage cheese) so i was thinking a whey/casein powder mix, also i think this could be even better nutrition wise

hmm I thought the oatmeal + whey protein shake was pretty much considered optimal for 1-1.5hrs pre-workout. I have always heard that it's best for the stomach to be empty during workout so as not to divert any blood from the muscles.

I wasn't agreeing with "20-30 minutes" I was only telling him to add a protein source, sorry for the confusion.
