Default Business Trip

Next week I will be going away on a business trip to New Orleans. The hotel that I am going to stay in has a gym so I will still be able to workout. My question pertains to my last meal of the day. I currently have cottage cheese, wait about 45 minutes, then I take my zinc and magnesium and go to bed. Since my hotel room will not have a refridgerator, what would be a good alternative to the cottage cheese?

I plan on buying some supplements when I arrive at my desination. That way I don't have to go through the airport explaining what all the powder in my luggage is. Unfortunately, it looks like I will need to go to GNC to do this. There is one about a block from the hotel. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks,

a piece of meat, such as chicken would be a suitable protein source, pre-sleep, in place of cottage cheese.

Alternatively you could buy a casein protein supplement

I'll have to look for some casein supplements. Thanks for the info.

Avoid eating tuna every single day. try to limit your intake to 2 or 3 tins per week. run a search on "mercury poisoning".

GNC should have a small tub of casien protien. Take your ZMA first then wait about 45 minutes to have your casien protien then hit the sack. What part of New Orleans are you in? If you are staying in the French Quarter, you'll have a great time. The food can't be beat and great music.

I carry supplements in carryon luggage every week, I haven't been stopped yet. In fact the only time I was stopped was when I had a wireless router in my bag and they couldn't tell what it was on the xray.

On a recent trip, I used MRPs. Easy to carry, little mess, but bring a shaker.

GNC has a bag of whey..probably 1 pound..in my opinion, the best flavor is French Vanilla but they are overpriced. Still paying $10 seems ok for the situation and it is portable.

Also, depending on your goals..search for restaurants where the menu will offer you options to keep your diet in place. Still, one cheat meal might happen *or two* still, it won't make it hard for you to get back in your routine.

While away from home, I always had breakfast at a restaurant. Eggs, lean ham, toast..having whey for every meal would be too boring for me. I would grab stuff from the buffet that I could eat that same day that didn't require refrigeration. I also found a teriyaki place that uses low carb sauces, had brown rice as part of the menu and lean cuts of meat.
