hey guys, i've gotten advice on making my own gainer from you guys.
1.5 - 2 cups oats (600cals) 2 tbsp PB (around 200cals - 17g fat tho) 2 scoops on whey (160cals - 46g protein) i was wondering... I went to the store today to buy the oats. However, i saw 2 different types, oats and rolled oats... didn't know which 1 to get so i got both? But i would like to know for next time, which one should i choose. Also, please give me any advice on the shake. I'm a bit worried because PB has so much fat! Thanks AndyH |

If you have natural peanut butter, then the fat youre getting from it is good

Fat is a requirement for muscle building. Just because it's name is "fat" doesn't mean it's bad. It's good!
And as long as the ingredients on the back say nothing more than "100% oats" or "100% rolled oats", you're fine. |

Yeah, be sure your PB is natty peanut butter. It should have oil on top. Just stir the oil in and refigerate.

I know most of the big companies make it i.e. "Smuckers". It will say natural peanut butter on the jar. Doesn't have as much flavor but it is much better for you. Will you please tell me why you are going crazy over 27g of fat per serving of your shake?!?!? Think about it, it is a "gainer" shake so it's going to be pretty loaded with all your nutritional data (cals, carbs, protein, fat). All the fat in that shake are good, it's not like your eating 4 donuts! Even if you had it twice a day that's only 54g of fat. Bodybuilders should get about 80-110g of fat a day from the proper sources. Fat is a vital part of growth! Don't worry about it, suck it up! I take it if your using a gainer that your bulking, so then don't worry about it and get big! Train Hardcore, Eat Hardcore! Good Luck. |
