Default Would you date a friend?

Controversy has risen on the subject. Some would. Some wouldn't. Some might. There are advantages and disadvantages. Now, for establishing an exclusive relationship, would you date a friend?

The best relationship I've had stemmed from a close friendship. I think it depends on the person. I have male friends that I'm very close to, but I would NEVER date them. I don't think a friendship should stop you from dating someone if that person is dating material.

The best relationships always start as a friendship IMO...

I have dated a few friends and years after we broke up we are still friends. My fiance has the biggest problem with it because I have a lot of girl "friends" but she has gotten used to it.

I dated a friend and it was the best relationship. but she had to move due to work. But we are glad for the intimate relationship we had.

I don't think it's ever a good idea to completely 'write off' any avenue. As in, don't try to play the, "worried about how it will effect the friendship game."

Yes, I have before (isn't that usually how it works anyways?)

Man, am I the only one who's had an absolutely negative experience from this? I didn't vote, but I did this more than once and the last time I lost the friend and the group of friends we were in.

I do believe that your 'lover' should also be your friend tho, so I won't count it out. Friendship + love = the way to be, imo

But I'm silly.

I'd never completely give up the option of dating a friend. But generally, no, there's a reason that they're my friend and not my "romantic interest".

My ex and I were each other's best friends until she broke up with me, now I won't even talk to her. But, I digress. Right now, I'm dating a really good friend, which is weird, seeing as we're dating yet also talking about dating other people. Meh, whatever happens will happen. Personally, I'm pushing for a more one-on-one thingy with her, but we'll just have to see
