Default School Assessment

For my next PD/H/PE assessment task I have to create a video presentation.
I must select one skill from any sport of my choice, and present a 15 minute practical demonstaration of how I would coach an athlete through the three stages of this skill acquisition for this one movement skill. My demonstration should include one suitable skill drill or practise for each level of skill acquisition.
It should include an explanation of the different drills/practises for each level.

I wanted to do a bodybuilding exercise - at first I thought bench press would be good. However, since receiving the specific marking criteria and guidlelines, Im not sure bench press or any bodybuilding exercise would be very effective for this task.

If anyone has any suggestions for an exercise that would suit the assessment well, please let me know. Otherwise, I will just choose a different sport, which will be very easy (I just would have preferred to have done bodybuilding.)
Thanks in advance!!

How about kicking a footy? Also bring out the hypothesis of specificty on your teacher - but if your PDPE teachers were anything like mine prepare to be sent out of the classroom .

lol, yeah I probably will use specifity on my assessment.Like I said i can easily think of a skill for most sports: Football, basketball, tennis, cricket etc. However I would love to do bodybuilding.. - if its not possible it's alright, I just would have preferred it.

G'day Mate. I think there is different skill levels in posing. There's the pro who makes it look so easy. Then there's the beginner, strugling to get a muscle to do as its told and trying to look natural etc. And a million human flaws inbetween that we must deal with. Cheers. Ohh yeah!! Good thinking.
Unfortunately, I think it would be too difficult though - because I dont know how to pose (or know anyone who does) - and this assessment requires me to do a video. Hmm...

If anyone else has any advice I'd be so thankful, however it looks like I will just choose a different sport..

I was just reading a chapter in a textbook which speaks about this, and I think if I can explain and perform a drill or movement from the cognitive, associative and autonomous stages - it is right!
For example: if I was to choose cricket - bowling:

Cognitive Stage: Grip, run in and how you use your bodyweight

Associative Stage: Arm action, direction, length

Autonomous Stage: Batsman weaknesses, type of pitch

This is the example in the text book.

Using this example, and just thinking off the top of my head I think I could probably do something like this for flat bench:

Cognitive Stage: Grip, arch, feet positioning (with light or no weight)

Associative Stage: using light/medium weight focusing on more specific things such as shoulder movement, head and eyes, shouder blades

Autonomous Stage: Advanced techniques - maybe the use of shocking techniques, or strength/powerlifting strategies...

Im not 100% sure, but at least now I think I have worked out how I can do it for bodybuilding

I had to do this for one of my biomechanics labs. Heres what I did. Some of the movements are obviously incorrect as I had limited time to complete it since I was studying for my physiology exam, but here goes:

PREPARATION PHASE: Baseball Swing (left handed batter)

Sequence Articulation & Action Plane & Axis
1st Elbow Flexion (both arms) - Sagittal/M-L
2nd Arm Abduction (back arm) - Frontal/AP
3rd Arm Adduction (front arm) - Frontal/AP
4th Shoulder Transverse Flexion - Sagittal/M-L
(front arm)/ Shoulder Transverse
Extension (back arm)

EXECUTION PHASE: Baseball Swing

Sequence Articulation & Action Plane & Axis
1st Hip and VC Transverse Rotation -Transverse/Longitudinal
2nd Shoulder Transverse Extension - Sagittal/M-L
(front arm)
3rd Shoulder Transverse Flexion - Sagittal/M-L
(back arm)
4th Hip Extension (back leg) - Sagittal/M-L

FOLLOW-THROUGH/RECOVERY PHASE: Baseball Swing

Sequence Articulation & Action - Plane & Axis
1st Shoulder Transverse Extension - Sagittal/M-L
(front arm)/ Shoulder Transverse Flexion (back arm)
2nd Elbow Extension - Sagittal/M-L
3rd Hip Flexion/Transverse Extension/ - Sagittal/M-L
Knee Flexion (turn toward base)
