How do I figure out how much efa I need each day? I am looking to try to have a salad with safflower oil and flaxseed on it. I weight 203 lbs. Thanks

Okay well I know you won't find a salad dressing with safflower and flaxseed in it. Flaxseed can become contaminated or spoil extremely quickly and for it to be in a light bottle you would find safflower would mess it up.
But you can buy it separately and mix it for eating or eat it separately. For a blend of good oils. Try out smart balance or enova oil. Checkout the websites www.enovaoil.com or www.smartbalance.com . I like both of them and their the same for quantity. You get a good blend of omega-3s and omega-6s, safflower and canola mixes. I bought the flaxseed separately. Now as for how much a day. I'm not sure. But I use EFAs as what makes up the fat part of my diet for the day. So if I'm on a 2400 cal diet I take in about 60 grams of fat...then I get that from my food subtract that, and what's left over is taken from my EFA blends. So I say read up on the 13 week fat loss and do the math of how much fat you need in a day. That would be good start and give you an idea of how much you need. Oh forgot to mention. Smartbalance does have a flax oil blend....(although I'm unsure how that works; oh I htink it's a spray bottle or something). Sin, VB |

yeah it depends on the amount of calories in your diet. Definately aim to get some your pre-workout meal, post-workout meal, and before bed

Pre workout ? Not really bro, it will slower the digestion, and affect your workout.
I have them in the last 3 or 4 meals. I workout after my first meal. |

I wonder if fats pre-workout affect performance or if its only intended to slow down digestion. I noticed Yu recommends solid foods preworkout with fats about an hour before a workout. I always thought an hour would be too little time to digest a meal with fats.
BTW, you should try Udo's flax oil blend. A little expensive but well worth it! |

Just a friendly reminder: Take your darn fishoil!! Concentrated fish oil is a superior source of the omega 3 fats in comparision to flax or safflower oil.
