I have in the past. My work outs were not very pleasing. I feel the best thing to do is to heal first then work out. This way you give your body time to heal.

I think it matters what you are taking them for. For example, if you've got a cut on your leg or foot that may have become infected, then I don't think there would be any problem with an upper body workout, but you might want to wait until the wound heals before working your legs. But if you're taking them because you've been sick, then you should wait until your completely recovered before working out again.

wiat until you have finished your antibiotic treatment. putting your body under stress, such as weight lighting, will only hinder recovery as it puts your body in a catabolic state, which it already is in.

also, don't stop taking your antibiotics once you 'feel better' either, as the foreign bacteria may still be present in your system.

If you feel ok to exercise then exercise with or without the antibiotics. Let's say you are on a 10 day antibiotic treatment and by the 5th day you feel better (from whatever it is you have) then why shouldn't you train? Keep taking the antibiotics until complete but hit the weights as well.

I appreciate your input fellas.

I just started taking antibiotics because a few weeks ago I had my wisdom teeth pulled and the other day my face was fine but then swelled up huge, along with an aching ear. I didn't think that the antibiotics would hurt me, but i wasn't sure if the strain on my body from exercising would mess with the meds.

Please don't use a public gym while sick. You spread it to everyone else who picks up the weights.

let me explain that i thought i had kicked the cold so i thought i could start working out again (after being away for a week). as soon as i did my first exercise i realised i was not ready to start working out yet. i left after doing two sets of one exercise! and i feel worse today than i had in the last few days. but, yeah, you bring up a great point! stay home if you are sick!!
