Ok, well I am officially admitting that I have not been faithfull to my workout for about 4 weeks. Seems like I can always come up with something more important to do. So my routine of going to the gym has been broken and I am still finding it tough to get my butt back on schedule. Last week I was only at the gym for 2 days. Well 2 days on a 4 day split just doesnt get it done. I have a feeling I am not the only one you have lost their motivation before, please let me know how to get back at it and stick to it.

*Slap!* What's the matter with you!?! Get in that gym and squat, dammit! Okay, I'm not the drill sargent type. When I need motivation I think of how I feel when I don't workout. I feel lethargic and depressed. When I've been eating right and working hard I feel real good about myself. Visualize yourself running on the treadmill, lifting hard and sweating bullets. I also read Fitness/BB magazines to keep me interested. Even if the information isn't the best in the world, reading about it and seeing pictures helps get me in the mood. ................For Lifting! Gets me in the mood for lifting! (Geez, get your head out of the gutter.) Anyway, you know how good it feels to be physically active. Don't deprive yourself of those good feelings. |

Take a BF measurement and if you've lost some LBM you might get motivated so you don't slip further away from your previous gains.
I went through a period of slacking off and it was eye-opening to do a BF check and try on a pair of jeans that only look right when I am lean. See if that helps. |

I get out my wedding pics!! Or I go up and smell the size 12 DKNY leather jeans I got from a friend as a 'hand me down' (cause she lost a bunch of weight)--something about that perfect soft black lambskin does it--because I want to fit into them!

[ QUOTE ] Take a BF measurement and if you've lost some LBM you might get motivated so you don't slip further away from your previous gains. [/ QUOTE ] I think this is what killed my motivation. I changed my diet and started working out for about 5 months and I only lost 2% BF. Made it seem like a lot of wasted time and energy. Thanks for the advice guys. I guess we will have to see if I can put any of it in motion. Wish me luck! |
