Default cmajiK\'s Journal to the Center of the Earth

This begins my journal. Hopefully this won't be the last post.

I just went on a three week cut and went from 200 lbs to 183 lbs, then went to Florida and showed off my four pack and got a good tan. Now, it is time to bulk again. I want to do a clirty bulk (both a clean and dirty bulk) and plan to bring my weight to a massive 205 lbs.

It is 4 PM est here in Northern Massachusetts and I just woke up about an hour ago. My breakfast for the afternoon was/is 3 sugar cookies, a lot of egg whites, and a glass of skim milk.
The sugar cookies contained 9 grams of fat each, and the only reason I am eating them is so I don't have to eat them in the near future. Only nine left.
As for the egg whites and skim milk, that is good quality bulk stuff.

Here are my stats.
5'11
186 pounds
bodyfat % please guesstimate when i post pics
bench - 215
squat - 225 for reps

My two goals are to reach 225 for bench, having more than 1 rep, but at least 2. And of course to reach 205 lbs without being too chubby.

I haven't lifted in over a week because of Florida so I am going to get to work this afternoon. Will update later.

Peace

Did a very small workout today.
Squats
155x6
185x6
205x6
225x6
135x15

Bicep Curls
75x2 barbell
75x2 barbell
55x15 ez bar standing up

Deadlift 225x1
SLDL 225x1

then put barbell on traps as if squatting (on a smith machine) and burned out my calves with
135x25
185x20
205x20

i left early for two reasons: had to get my father a present for fathers day, and was very fatigued for some reason

Overall a crappy lifting day but was certainly better than nothing

Hey bro, not a bad journal ya got here... but how come so many of your exercises were 1 or 2 reps, though? You seemed like you were going strong on squats, and then just completely crapped out. And, in the future, you might want to do deadlifts with back, since squats and DLs all on the same day is fairly taxing.

As far as posting pics, try hosting them on www.81x.com; it's free and easy to set up. Just make sure you set it up so the photos are public. Peace...

Thanks for your input. To be honest, I don't really have a back day...I just can't think of good lifts for the back..I just do pullups and seated cable rows.

I feel I have poor form for deadlifts so I hesitate to do them. To be honest I was trying to put 315 on there but I wasn't able to get those extra 2 plates on because of their friction to the ground.

I ate two more sugar cookies today, but gave the rest to my brother and his friends. It was funny, they think I am such a selfless person offering them my junk food, when in fact I feel I am giving them dangerous unhealthy foods. I drank a lot of water, and consumed a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on wheat bread. The peanut butter was just low fat jiffy and I know I need to get natty which I will ASAP. I can't do much about the jelly and I love jelly. As for the wheat bread, I will have to change it to 100% whole wheat bread. I had a little chinese food that my parents had ordered, some steamed veggies with chicken, and a couple wings. Nothing major. Right now I am drinking a serving of GNC's chocolate mega whey with a very large glass of skim milk. Protein mania. Also had a multi vitamin today and plan to take another right now. I am using "One Source" but once I finish will try to find a better one.

form is easy to concure. All you have to do is use just a bar do maybe 40-70 reps rest do an other 10 reps with just the bar in perfect form. Now put actual weight on, start light than keep adding plates and you have your form down in 1 workout.

Deadlifts are a great exercise as far as overall mass builders, so I would definitely get your form up to par. As far as back exercises, I usually do deadlifts (not lately since I'm cutting, though), bentover BB rows (these are great, you should use them), unilateral DB rows, chin ups, etc. There's tons of exercises that only require a barbell or dumbbell to get going. The more you strengthen your back, the more your bench will go up, actually, so if that's a goal you should do some more work.

If you want to see some video examples of different compound and strength lifts to be sure about form, check this out. It's helped me with different clean variations in the past.

Just out of curiousity, what is your split like right now? Also, I noticed you wrote that you lost around 15-20 lbs in 3 weeks, and while it's great getting lean, that sounds like a lot in such a short time span. You may want to post your diet, too. Peace...

Post your split. WTH I personally like doing SLDLs on leg day. It works the hams and glutes so it's actually more of a leg exercise (I'm sure you knew that). I can see where you're coming from as it is a 'CORE' exercise for adding mass as are squats. I like to superset SLDLs with leg press or squats.

I completely agree with you on keeping SLDLs on leg day, bro, and those supersets are killer; another good one is supersetting with sissy squats. But I really think traditional deads should be put with back; it's just (to me) too taxing on the CNS to go balls out on squats and THEN balls out on DLs. I'd likely die. lol Also, due to the fact that he's only doing 2 back exercises at the moment, it would be great to throw in the DLs on back day. You'll supercharge your bulk by getting a big release of GH twice a week from having those lifts spaced out...
